DescriptionLocationInstructorsEducation PolicyCancellation Policy The At Home with Diversity® course is part of a comprehensive cultural diversity outreach program that will help real estate companies diversify their workplaces and improve the industry's ability to serve culturally diverse consumers. NAR and HUD undertook a joint effort in 1998 to certify real estate professionals who are trained regarding cultural diversity and outreach and have made a commitment to a set of diversity principles. The training, built on the letter and spirit of the Fair Housing Act, provides participants with tools to build diversity outreach into their business plans to best serve a dynamic and growing market. This course is available to all professionals involved in real estate transactions. THIS CLASS SATISFIES THE NAR FAIR HOUSING REQUIREMENTS FOR CYCLE 8. ALL REALTORS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE TWO HOURS OF FAIRHOUSING TRAINING EVERY THREE YEARS. She is a CIPS, RSPS, and AHWD instructor and has presented at seminars and associations all over the world. In addition to teaching classes, she and her business partner have developed courses geared to students who work with foreign buyers and sellers. They are licensed educators in Florida, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Carla has presented at the National Association of Realtors®, Prudential and Coldwell Banker national and international conventions, as well as conferences across the USA as well as in the Bahamas, Belize, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, France, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Spain, Thailand, and Venezuela. Carla served as chair of the Sarasota Association of Realtors® global council in 2006 and 2019. She also was awarded Realtor® of the Year and the President’s Award (twice) from her association. Patricia Tan Patricia Tan was born in England, and her career in international sales and marketing led her to live and work in many countries in Europe and Asia, before relocating to Florida in 1997. A Realtor® since 2004, Patricia has built a successful global real estate business. She brings a dynamic approach to the classroom environment and a wealth of experience in the day-to-day practice of international real estate. Patricia is a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) and holds the Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI) designation, and Resort & Second Homes Property Specialist (RSPS), and Transnational Referral (TRC) Certifications. In addition to teaching for Florida Realtors®, where her experience includes teaching iCE classes, Patricia is also a CIPS instructor. To complement CIPS and Florida Realtors® international classes, she has developed two of her own, which have been approved for CE credits and are detailed in the CE Express catalog: Go Global! Attendance: Florida Real Estate Commission requires a licensee attend 90% of each of the classroom hours to receive CE credit. Physical attendance is required for the duration of all in person classes and cameras must be on and attendee visible for the duration of all virtual classes. Class Check In: RASM is required by the Florida Real Estate Commission to maintain attendance records for each course offering. It is the responsibility of each attendee to sign in upon arrival and sign out upon departure. Should an attendee fail to sign in or sign out, RASM cannot issue CE credit and will not issue a refund.Late Arrival:Students who arrive more than 15 minutes after the start of class cannot be given CE credit. Please allow adequate commute time. Those who arrive late and/or depart early are also ineligible for any refund.Location:RASM operates from two locations. It is the responsibility of members to confirm the location of their class or event when registering. Please note that there is not enough time to travel between locations and still arrive on time. Refunds will not be issued to members who arrive at the incorrect location.Registration:Advance registration for all classes is recommended. Cut-off for scheduled classes will be 2pm on the business day prior to the course offering / event. Due to space limitations, seats will first be provided to those who have pre-registered. Walk-ins only will be admitted into the class should space allow. Photo/Video Marketing: By registering for or attending a class, event or meeting offered by the RASM, attendees agree to allow the use of their photo/video/likeness taken of them in a class, event, or meeting in RASM publications, websites, newsletters, social media sites, emails, or other Association related materials.Webinar Policy:Students taking a CE class via webinar/virtual platform are required to be on camera for the duration of the entire session. RASM cannot issue CE credit and will not issue a refund for students not on camera. If you lose your internet connection during a virtual class, please log back in as quickly as possible. If you are off camera more than 10% of the class time, you will not be eligible for CE credit.Course Materials:Students will receive a digital copy of any course materials related to the course being offered the day before class. Students may print or download onto electronic devices to view during class. The Association can provide a printed copy of the manual for a $20 printing fee. After sending out the digital copyrighted materials, no classes will be refunded.Special accommodation:If you have a disability and require assistance or reasonable accommodation to fully participate in any class / event, please submit your request in writing to education@MyRASM.com. Requests should be made as soon as possible but no later than 10 days prior to the event. A. Registrations are not transferable, but may be refunded per this policy. Courses that offer a designation or certification, whether single day or multiple days, will be refunded less a $25 administration fee. The written request for refund must be received three business days, excluding weekends and holidays, prior to the course start date. For example, if a course is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. on a Monday, the cancellation and request for refund must be received no later than the preceding Wednesday. D. If a course is postponed, cancelled, or rescheduled, registrants may choose to receive a full refund or apply the credit toward another course within the same calendar year.
